What better way of showing your love for nature than spending a couple of hours on a Sunday 29th July, helping to look after Salford’s secret nature haven…

The clean-up, Himalayan Balsam bashing and replacing with wildflowers is from 11 until 2pm. Stay for as long as you like – all help is appreciated. (There will be a gazebo giving out equipment and seeds at the entrance next to Garden Needs on Radford Street, M7 4NT).

Then join us for a drink at ‘The Star’ pub (2 Back Hope Street) and a free slice (or two) of Pizza!

The course is spread over 4 weeks during the month of March.
The Broughton Trust, Heath Avenue, Salford, M7 1NY. Dates and Times are as follows:
5th/6th March 2018 (Monday & Tuesday) - 10:30 to 15:30

12th/13th March 2018 (Monday & Tuesday) - 10:30 to 15:30
19th/20th/21st March 2018 (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) - 10:30 to 15:30
28th March 2018 (Wednesday) - 10:30 to 15:30

The course tutor is Donnachadh McCarthy an award winning environmentalist, journalist and author of several books including Easy Eco-auditing.
The training will address the full range of a home’s environmental performance, including areas where vulnerable households could save money by adopting eco-tips. The first five days will involve training on how to carry out the eco-audits, whilst the next two days will involve carrying out sample home visits. Trainees will then be given a week to write up the audits, so that the last day can be spent going over them together.
The Course Content Includes:
The course valued at £950 is available free of charge to all attendees who are in a position to carry out 17 eco-audits prior to 31st January 2019. A deposit of £25 will be required and is returnable on completion of the 17 audits, preferably carried out within the Salford area.
